Nashville Group Psychotherapy Society
The Nashville Group Psychotherapy Society (NGPS) was founded in 2023 as an affiliate society of the American Group Psychotherapy Association, a national non-profit organization dedicated to training group psychotherapists. We are an interdisciplinary organization, made up of psychologists, social workers, professional counselors, marital and family therapists, psychiatrists, and others who work with groups. Our workshops explore themes related to both individual and group psychotherapy principles, and provide experiential learning opportunities through demonstration groups, while our social events foster both professional and personal relationships.
While we are based in Nashville, we welcome membership and participation from the entire state of Tennessee. As a society, we are committed to the promotion of group work as a powerful therapy for psychological change. We believe that group psychotherapy principles can be applied broadly in a variety of settings and we welcome any and all people who live and work in groups.
